Our Little Ball Player — A Baseball Funeral Program
For a Child Who Loved the Game
There are some childhood memories that seem to come with their own sounds. The crack of a bat. Parents cheering from the bleachers. A coach calling everyone in from the field. Cleats hitting the dugout floor. Children laughing while somebody tries to remember whose water bottle belongs to whom.
And then there are all the little things that happen around the game. A baseball glove left where it wasn't supposed to be. Grass stains and dusty knees. A uniform that somehow needed washing again. The first time he actually connected with the ball instead of swinging right past it. The enormous grin when he made it safely to first base.
When a little boy loved baseball, those ordinary moments can become some of the memories his family treasures most.
Our Little Ball Player was created for a child whose story includes those afternoons at the ballpark, whether he had only recently picked up his first bat or baseball had already become one of the things he loved most. The design combines classic baseball details with soft, gentle colors and a little baseball teddy bear, creating a funeral program that still feels unmistakably like it belongs to a child.

Remembering More Than the Games He Played
When you're creating a funeral program for a child, it can be difficult to know what belongs on the pages. His life may have been far too short, but that doesn't mean there isn't a story to tell.
His story is in the things he loved.
If baseball was one of them, you may have photographs from practices, games, team-picture day, trips to the ballpark, or afternoons playing catch in the backyard. There may be a picture of him proudly wearing his uniform for the first time, standing at home plate with a bat that looked almost as big as he was, or grinning beneath a baseball cap that never seemed to stay straight.
Those photographs don't have to document accomplishments. He didn't need to hit home runs or be the best player on the team for baseball to be an important part of his childhood.
Maybe what you remember most is how seriously he took choosing his bat. Maybe he spent half the game watching butterflies in the outfield. Maybe he slid into bases whether he needed to or not because sliding was clearly the best part. Maybe his favorite thing about baseball was actually the snack afterward.
Those little details matter because they tell people something about him.
A funeral program can hold some of those memories alongside the more traditional parts of the service. It can become a small record of the boy everyone loved—not simply the dates of his life, but some of the things that made those years his.
Choose Four Pages or Eight Pages
Every funeral program template includes both a 4-page and an 8-page option, so you can decide how much room you need without having to choose a different design.
The 4-page version includes everything needed for a complete funeral program: the front cover, the order of service, the obituary or life story, and the back cover. You can personalize the back with a thank-you message, favorite scripture, poem, quotation, service information, or another remembrance that feels right for your family.
The four pages are created from one standard 8½ × 11-inch sheet of paper. Print the first two template pages back-to-back, fold the sheet in half, and you have a finished four-page program.
If you have more photographs and memories you want to include, the 8-page version adds a second sheet. That gives you more room for family photographs, baseball pictures, favorite sayings, stories, scripture, poetry, or moments from different parts of his childhood.
You may have photographs from the day he was born, birthdays, holidays, school, family vacations, ordinary afternoons at home, and, of course, baseball. The additional pages give you space to bring more of those pieces together.
I designed the templates so the 4-page program is already complete. Choosing eight pages doesn't unlock something the four-page version is missing. It simply gives you more room when four pages don't feel like enough.
Personalize It in Canva
Our Little Ball Player is designed to be personalized in Canva. You can replace the sample photographs with your own, add your child's name and dates, change the wording, add his life story, and personalize the service information throughout the program.
You don't have to make every page about baseball, either. Baseball is the setting for the design, but it was only one part of who he was.
Include the picture of him cuddled up with the dog. The missing front tooth. The Halloween costume he refused to take off. The family vacation where everything went wrong and he thought it was hilarious. The photograph with his siblings that nobody could get all the children to smile for at the same time.
And if there was a photograph that everyone in the family simply calls “that picture of him,” there is probably a place for that one too.
When you're finished personalizing the template, you can download the completed program as a PDF and print the number of copies you need.
If this design feels like your little boy, you can see Our Little Ball Player and begin making it his with the photographs and memories your family treasures.
Looking for Something a Little Different?
Baseball may have been part of his story without being the design that feels right for his funeral program. Or perhaps you're remembering a child whose personality, interests, or favorite things point you toward something entirely different.
That's okay.
A children's funeral program should never feel as though you're trying to make your child fit the template. The template should give you a beautiful place to tell your child's story.
You can browse the complete collection of Children's Funeral Program Templates to find a design that feels more like the little person you're remembering.
Sometimes it may be a favorite color or a familiar image that makes one design stand out. Sometimes you won't be able to explain it at all. You'll simply see it and know, that's the one.
If Making the Program Yourself Is Just Too Much Right Now
Grief can make even simple decisions feel like one decision too many. If opening Canva, choosing photographs, arranging pages, and finding the right words is simply more than you can handle right now, you don't have to do it yourself.
Through my Funeral Concierge Service, I can create the funeral program for you. And you don't need to arrive with everything figured out. In fact, you can come to me with nothing figured out at all.
After you purchase the service, I'll create a private area online for us where you can tell me about your child, share photographs and memories, and give me whatever information you do have. We'll talk about the little person you're remembering, the things he loved, the moments your family treasures, and what you would like the service and program to feel like.
From there, I'll help you put the pieces together. I can write the obituary or life story, help you plan and organize the order of service, help choose meaningful wording and remembrances, and even write a custom poem created specifically for your child. I'll guide you through the decisions one at a time and then create the finished funeral program for you.
Whether you create the program yourself or ask me to create it for you, the purpose is the same: to make something that feels like the little boy you're remembering—something that holds more than his name and dates and gives the people who loved him a glimpse of the laughter, personality, ordinary moments, and enormous love that filled his life.
You’re welcome to explore our funeral program collections and find the design that feels right for your loved one—created to help you honor their memory with care and ease.
