Coastal Serenity-A Funeral Program Template
For a Woman Who Loved the Coast
Some people seem to belong near the water. Give them a warm breeze, the sound of waves, a long stretch of shoreline, and suddenly everything feels a little more right.
Maybe she loved early walks along the beach before everyone else arrived. Maybe vacations always seemed to lead back to the coast. She may have loved sailing, collecting seashells, watching the sun disappear over the water, or sitting on a porch with a cup of coffee and nowhere she needed to be. Or perhaps the beach was simply her place—the place where she relaxed, laughed, breathed a little deeper, and felt most like herself.
Coastal Serenity was created for a woman whose memories seem naturally connected to those peaceful places. Soft coastal colors, airy details, and subtle seaside elements give the funeral program a light, graceful feeling while leaving plenty of room for what matters most: her photographs, her story, and the people and moments that made her life uniquely hers.
Remembering the Places That Felt Like Her
A funeral program can do more than tell people when the service begins or list the order of events. It can quietly remind everyone in the room of the person they came to remember.
For one woman, that might mean roses from the garden she tended every summer. For another, it might be mountains, music, books, or a favorite color. And for some women, it is impossible to think of them without also thinking about the coast.
Perhaps your favorite photographs of her were taken barefoot in the sand, laughing on a family vacation, sitting beside the water, standing on the deck of a boat, or wearing the enormous sun hat everyone teased her about. Maybe there is a picture of her holding a seashell like she'd just discovered buried treasure, even though there were fifty more exactly like it scattered around her feet.
Those photographs belong in her memorial.
Don't feel that every picture needs to be formal or perfectly posed. The photograph with windblown hair, sandy feet, sunglasses pushed onto the top of her head, or a grandchild tucked beside her on a beach towel may tell people far more about who she really was than the most beautiful studio portrait ever could.
The soft, neutral design of Coastal Serenity was created to give those memories a beautiful place to live without overwhelming them. The program should feel like her—not like a template that could belong to anyone.
Choose Four Pages or Eight Pages
Every funeral program template includes both a 4-page and an 8-page option, so you can choose the amount of space that feels right without having to choose another design.
The 4-page version includes everything you need for a complete memorial program: the front cover, the order of service, the obituary or life story, and the back cover. The back can also be personalized with a thank-you message, poem, quote, service information, or another remembrance that feels meaningful to your family.
The four pages are created from one standard 8½ × 11-inch sheet of paper. Print the first two template pages back-to-back, fold the sheet in half, and you have a finished four-page program.
If you have more photographs and memories you would like to include, the 8-page version simply adds another sheet and gives you additional room for photographs, stories, favorite sayings, family memories, scripture, poetry, or other details that help tell her story.
I designed the templates this way intentionally. If four pages are all you need, you aren't giving anything important up—the program is already complete. If you want eight pages, the additional pages fit naturally inside and give you more room to remember.
Personalize It in Canva
The template is designed to be personalized in Canva, so you can replace the sample photographs and wording with your own. Add her name and dates, choose the photographs you love most, write your own tribute, and change the wording throughout the program to make it personal.
And don't worry if the woman you're remembering didn't live anywhere near the ocean. A coastal design can still be exactly right for someone who treasured annual beach vacations, dreamed about retiring near the water, loved sailing, decorated her home with things gathered along the shore, or simply felt happier whenever she could see the sea.
You don't need to make the program complicated. Sometimes a handful of photographs and a few stories that make everyone say, “Oh, that was so her,” are worth more than pages of formal writing.
When you're finished, you can download your completed program as a PDF and print the number of copies you need.
If Coastal Serenity feels like the right way to remember her, you can choose the template and begin personalizing it with your own photographs and memories.
Looking for Something a Little Different?
No two women leave behind the same story, and no single style will feel right for every family. She may have loved the ocean, but perhaps bright tropical colors feel more like her than quiet coastal neutrals. Maybe she was happiest surrounded by flowers, preferred something traditional and elegant, or would have wanted a design filled with color and personality.
That's why the photograph on the sample cover should never be what determines whether a funeral program belongs to your mother, wife, sister, grandmother, daughter, or friend. The sample simply shows you what is possible. Her photographs and her story are what will make the finished program hers.
If Coastal Serenity isn't quite the right design, you can browse the complete collection of women's funeral program templates and look for the one that feels more like the woman you're remembering.
There doesn't have to be a logical explanation for why one design feels right and another doesn't. Sometimes you see one and immediately think, that's her.
If Making the Program Yourself Is Just Too Much Right Now
Grief can make even simple decisions feel like one decision too many. If opening Canva, choosing photographs, arranging pages, writing an obituary, and figuring out what belongs in the service is simply more than you can handle right now, you don't have to do it yourself.
Through my Funeral Concierge Service, I can create the funeral program for you. And you don't need to arrive with everything figured out. In fact, you can come to me with nothing figured out at all.
After you purchase the service, I'll create a private area online for us where you can tell me about your loved one, share photographs and memories, and give me whatever information you do have. We'll talk about the woman you're remembering, the life she lived, the people and things she loved, and what you would like the service and program to feel like.
From there, I'll help you put the pieces together. I can write the obituary or life story, help you plan and organize the order of service, help choose meaningful wording and remembrances, and even write a custom poem created specifically for your loved one. I'll guide you through the decisions one at a time and then create the finished funeral program for you.
Whether you create the program yourself or ask me to create it for you, the purpose is the same: to create something that feels worthy of the woman you're remembering—something that doesn't simply record the details of her life, but helps the people who loved her look at it and think, yes, this feels like her.
You’re welcome to explore our funeral program collections and find the design that feels right for your loved one—created to help you honor their memory with care and ease.
